Just curious to find out in general when most American tv shows are scripted, shot and have post done to them ie how do the seasons work. Where I work in Oz scripts for the show are written a few months in advance while the previous series is still being shot (and rewritten, amendments etc) production of the new series starts in July and we start on air for the new series in Feb the following year. Schedules for Production and Post would be great too ie how many shoot days, second units if any, how long editors have to assemble eps, how long a director is in post etc. Any help would be great. Because most American shows debut in the fall, I believe the work on a particular season begins in the summer. It continues on through the fall and production stays ahead of the episodes airing by around 3-10 episodes.
