Why do some shows say "and (whoever) as (whoever) in the credits....?

Eg. On hustle, it shows the acotrs names then shows Robert Vaughn as Albert Stroller

Why do some shows say "and (whoever) as (whoever) in the credits....?say yes

A lot of times an actor may ask for this particular listing in the opening credits, especially if they are usually a top-billed star, but are not listed first in this particular show. I think it gives their name a couple of more seconds of air time every week.

yeah, they list like 15 people's names, then only the last person says "Joe Schmoe" as "Scumbag." I don't know
i have never noticed that before i will have to really pay attention the next time i see the credits
Most of the time the "and_____________" is a well-known actor who often does lead roles. While it may not be appropriate to list that person first in the cast, it separates that actor from the pack by giving special recognition. Be conscious of it the next time you see that in credits.
